PATRICK SHINING ELK

Patrick D. Shining Elk is a proud member of the Eastern Shoshone Indian Tribe of the Wind River Reservation in Wyoming, an award winning steer wrestler, bull rider and veteran of foreign wars. Patrick’s military career was spent in the United States Navy where he flew air crew (search and rescue) in three foreign wars — Lebanon, Panama War and Desert Storm. Patrick's inherent attraction to all things extreme led him to four years of professional motor cross racing and a career as a semi-professional rodeo cowboy on tour for three years with the IPRA/CPRA.

As an actor and stuntman, he has worked with the likes of Benjamin Bratt in La Mission, Wes Studi in The Only Good Indian, Tom Cruise in The Last Samarai, Viggo Mortenson in Hidalgo, "The Rock" in The Scorpion King and Gary Oldman and Skeet Ulrich in Nobody's Baby (aka Anasazi Moon), to name a few. He has done theatre with the Native Voices Program at the Autry National Museum in Los Angeles and well as other theatre companies throughout the nation and has to his credit a plethora of television commercials, corporate videos and print advertising spreads.

When Patrick isn’t preparing for a role or on a film shoot, he travels the United States and Canada speaking on the topic of meth usage, prevention and recovery. You can learn more about Patrick on his website at: www.ReelInjun.com.
